Implementing Industry 4.0 will automate this disinfection process by combining UV light with robotics technology to enable the automated and accurate delivery of disinfectants to terminate harmful pathogens, including common bacteria, pathogens, and protozoa. Researchers are also developing smart sensors for quick and instant detection of infection, such as thermal scanners and machine vision. In addition, drone technology is integrated with smart sensors for bulk screening individuals at mass gatherings for vitals like body temperature and heart rate. Drones have also been utilized for mass disinfection drives over public spaces, which began during the pandemic.
